چکیده

The driver is for a direct injection engine with 2 to 4 cylinders. There is one injector for every cylinder. To guarantee the pressure to be constant during every single injection stroke not more than 4 concurrent injections may be performed. As a consequence, for engines with at most 4 cylinders, every cylinder may be considered independent. Therefore, we may focus on the design of the driver for a single cylinder and compose the behavior of the whole driver system in a modular fashion. So, the design we achieve is highly modular and, theoretically, may be used for an engine with an arbitrary number of cylinders, provided the pressure in the fuel rail is guaranteed to be constant during each injection stroke. The real challenges of the design, however, are the tight time constraints and the high precision requirements. Both of these will be described in Section II.

A software integration approach for designing and assessing dependable embedded systems

Embedded systems increasingly entail complex issues of hardware–software (HW–SW) co-design. As the number and range of SW functional components typically exceed the finite HW resources, a common approach is that of resource sharing (i.e., the deployment of diverse SW functionalities onto the same HW resources). Consequently, to result in ameaningful co-design solution, one needs to factor the i...

Automatic generation of interfaces for distributed C-VHDL cosimulation of embedded systems: an industrial experience

This paper presents a distributed hardware/software cosimulation environment for heterogeneous systems pro-totyping applied to an industrial application. The environment provides following features: distributed Hw/Sw cosimulation, automatic Hw/Sw interface generation, Hw elements can be described at different levels of abstraction and generic/specific Sw debuggers can be used. Starting from a b...

Design Space Exploration for Heterogeneous Multi Multi-Core Processor Dedicated Systems

This work faces the problem of the HW/SW co-design of dedicated systems based on heterogeneous multi multi-core processor architectures. In particular, it proposes an extension of a previous system-level design space exploration (DSE) approach able to suggest to the designer an HW/SW partitioning of the system specification and a mapping of the partitioned entities onto an automatically selecte...
